35 New Hunters Certified in Annual CVCC Hunter Safety Education Class

35 students successfully passed the written and practical certification tests on March 10 and 12 and earned their Hunter Safety Certification. The class average was 95% with 4 students achieving perfect scores. The graduates were invited to the Conservation Club for a .22 target shoot on Saturday March 14th followed by student awards and a meal served by CVCC members Gary Gilbeck and Paul Lewison. Top student in the class was Jeff Rochester with perfect 100% test scores who received a CVCC hat. Top .22 shooters were Claire Tjelta and Jeff Rochester who each received electronic hearing protectors from the CVCC. We also certified the youngest graduate in the history of CVCC hunter safety classes – Aaron Leis at age 8.

Congratulations to all the prize winners and special thanks to all the others who made their "donations" to the fundraiser. Also, thanks to the CVCC club members who organized the fundraiser, selected and picked up the food and prizes, prepared the food, set up the village hall, worked in any capacity at the fundraiser, and cleaned up the village hall afterward.
