Trout Planting

On September 30th of 2008 several hundred brook trout were planted in area streams by CVCC members and friends.

A large group of children were in attendance and helped in the loading and stocking activities. Several mini lessons were provided to adults and children in regard to the size, numbers, and overall health of the population that was raised at the club grounds. DNR Mgt. on hand stated that the health of the general fish population was great.

The trout planting and raising of trout has been going on by the club since the 1950’s. The club members have planted hundreds and thousands of trout in local streams. Without the help of dedicated members like Chuck Sveum and Roger Anderson, the club would not be able to raise trout. Each day for several months, one of these fellows makes sure that the trout are fed and are getting an adequate amount of water. Thanks, guys!!
