The Coon Valley Conservation Club is sponsoring an On-Line Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education course. Students enrolling in this class must complete all lessons and lesson quizzes using the International Hunter Education Association On-Line Course by Saturday, April 24, 2010. Students are required to attend the final field training and testing day at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
The course fee is $10.00 and covers all necessary materials. Students are also required to have a DNR Customer Number to complete registration forms on April 24. Enrollment numbers are restricted. Persons born on or after 1-1-73 must have a hunter education certificate to purchase any regular Wisconsin hunting license. Persons successfully completing the course will receive a basic hunter education graduate certificate and a distinctive embroidered emblem. Young students certified will be able to purchase a hunting license in any state, and hunt alone in Wisconsin (with parental permission) when they turn 14. The On-Line lessons cover topics such as hunting equipment and methods, rules and regulations, ethics, responsibility, first aid and survival, principles of wildlife management, and basic firearms knowledge and safety. Instructors for this class are Roger Anderson, Al Haakenson, Charlie Nelson, Corky Roethel, Steve Pauloski, Royce Curtis and Regional DNR Safety Warden Bill Yearman.
