16 New Hunters Certified in the CVCC Internet Based Class

On Saturday, April 24 th, 16 students participated in the required Field Day to complete the first ever internet-based CVCC sponsored WI DNR Hunter Safety Education class.  The students along with 6 instructors and the District Safety Warden, Bill Yearman, spent the morning outside in the rain shooting .22’s and 20 ga.

On-Line Hunter Education Class Offered

The Coon Valley Conservation Club is sponsoring an On-Line Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education course.  Students enrolling in this class must complete all lessons and lesson quizzes using the International Hunter Education Association On-Line Course by Saturday, April 24, 2010.  Students are required to attend the final field training and testing day at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

2009 CVCC “BIG BUCK” Contest is ON !

The annual CVCC Big Buck Contest is on.  This year’s contest is open to members only and the cost is still only $5.00 to enter and includes a 100% payback.  60% of the pot goes to the rack totaling the highest score by adding the inside spread to the number of points that are 1" or longer;  40% of the pot goes to the heaviest deer, buck or doe, based on field dressed weight with a witnessed weight slip.  This year’s contest will include both the Wisconsin Gun Deer and Muzzleloader

Free Fishing Weekend – June 6th and 7th

Every year, the first consecutive Saturday and Sunday in June is designated as Free Fishing Weekend throughout the state of Wisconsin. All the waters of the state are open, including state waters of the Great Lakes and rivers bordering Wisconsin. Residents and nonresidents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days.
