2011 APRIL BOW SHOOT RESULTS

The Coon Valley Conservation Club would like to thank all of the individuals who attended our shoots this year and made them a success!  The April shoot saw nice weather on Saturday and most of the day on Sunday.  We saw a light turnout on Sunday and we believe it was due to the weather forecasters predicting the bad weather to arrive earlier than it did.  Mark "Fungi" Anderson from Niagara, WI was the lucky winner of the April drawing and chose the $200.00 prize.

2011 March Dual Shoot 3-D Archery Results

The Coon Valley Conservation Club would like to thank everyone who came down to the March Dual Shoot that we co-hosted with the Chaseburg Rod & Gun Club and made it a success!  The winds on Saturday scared a few people away, but those that waited until Sunday were welcomed with some favorable weather.  Congratulations to Brandon Wehling, the winner of the March drawing!  His name was drawn from a bucket that contained the names of the people who shot both the Coon Valley and the Chaseburg courses on this weekend.

Shooting Range Improvement Concept Plan approved at January Meeting

The Shooting Ranges Improvement Committee presented their "Concept Plan" for shooting range improvements at the January 27, 2011 membership meeting.  The overall goal of the committee is to improve our shooting ranges for now and the future.  The CVCC already has one of the best 3D archery ranges in this area and the committee feels we should also have one of the best firearms ranges as well.

Hunter Education

The Coon Valley Conservation Club is sponsoring their annual Wisconsin Basic Hunter Education course beginning in February.  The course will be held each Thursday at the Coon Valley Village Hall from 3:45 PM to 6:00 PM beginning on February 4, 2010 ending on March 18, 2010. There will also be two Saturday morning classes at the Coon Valley Conservation Club on Mar. 6 and Mar. 20 from 9 AM to Noon. There is no minimum or maximum age. Parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate. A Parent or Guardian must attend the first class to complete and sign registration forms for those student under the age of 18. Advance registration is requested. Please contact Royce Curtis at 608-452-309 for details. The course fee is $10.00 and covers all necessary materials. Persons born on or after 1-1-73 must have a hunter education certificate to purchase any regular Wisconsin hunting license. (Persons 10 years or older can participate in the special Mentored Hunting Program without this certification. However, we encourage these hunters and their mentors to enroll in this course.)
