On Sunday, July 24th over 45 4-H Shooting Sports project members and families gathered at the CVCC for the "Annual 4 County Competition". Project members from Vernon, LaCrosse, Monroe, Richland, and Crawford counties competed in bow, air rifle, muzzleloader and shotgun. The top over-all shooter was our own hunter safety graduate Trent Gander. Winning the top door prize, a Rossi Tri-Fecta .22/.243/20 ga combination, was another of our hunter safety graduates David Shue.
Competitors and their families packed the CVCC clubhouse for a meal and awarding of medals, ribbons and door prizes provided by the Vernon County 4-H Shooting Sports Leaders plus many sponsors. Many positive comments were received from the parents regarding our CVCC facilities and allowing their use for this event. The next 4-H event is the Vernon County Fair 4-H Premium Shoot on Sunday, Aug. 28th.
