Shooting Range Improvement Plan Approved – Work Day Scheduled Sat. July 9

At the June 30 membership meeting members approved the proposal from the CVCC Shooting Ranges Improvement Committee to make the safety improvements to our shooting range recommended by the NRA Range Technical Team.  These improvements include building berms and impact areas for separate pistol, .22/muzzleloader, shotgun and rifle ranges.  The general contractor selected for the project is Les Manske & Sons Excavating & Lanscaping, LLC, Stoddard, WI.

To prepare for the contractor a CVCC Members "Work Day" has been scheduled for Sat. July 9 starting at 8:00 AM.  We will be clearing all items from the existing gun ranges.  Come and lend a hand and see first hand what the improvements will include.

Phase 1 of the project includes building berms and impact areas, building targets and stands, relocating shooting benches, and installing fencing, gates and signs.  The target date for completion of this phase is the end of August.  The range is scheduled to re-open for members use in September.

Phase 2 to be completed in 2012 includes building 3 shooting houses, purchase of additonal range equipment and building a storage shed for range equipment and maintenance tools.

There will be frequent updates posted on the Web Site so check back often.  Also, there will be an article in the Summer 2012 CVCC Newsletter including all the specifications and details of the project.
